Reparations
On June 1st 2025, Tulsa's first black Mayor Monroe Nichols announced a $105 million trust fund devoted to repairing the
harms caused by the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The following is a breakdown of how the money is planned to be disbursed:

$24 million - housing and home ownership for the descendents of the massacre. |

$60 million - cultural preservation projects designed to combat urban decay and the implementation of parts of the Kirkpatrick Heights-Greenwood Master Plan. |
• |
$21 million - land acquisition, scholarship funding, and economic development programs in Greenwood. |
The announcement came on what the city has now designated as Race Massacre Observance Day.
Additionally, the city released 45,000 pages of classified documents related to the massacre. |
